KUALA LUMPUR: The Government is likely to put a cap on the amount of subsidised petrol a car owner can buy monthly, when the new petrol pricing mechanism starts on May 1.
Without a cap on the amount for each car, those eligible for the subsidised petrol would “definitely abuse it,” said Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 31 — Sugar will cost 20 sen more per kg from tomorrow, with the new price being RM1.65 in the peninsula and RM1.75 in Sabah and Sarawak, it is announced today.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 — The government has hiked up the price of premium fuel RON97 from 1.80 to RM2.05 a litre while the new RON95 petrol replacing RON92 will be sold at RM1.80 per litre.
The prices are effective tomorrow, state news agency Bernama reported.
Although the price of Ron 97 increased substantially — by 78 sen — to become RM2.70 on June 08, the price dropped twice within six months in line with the global drop in crude oil prices to RM1.80 on December 16.

SEREMBAN: Express bus fares are already up 30% nationwide.
The Government has allowed a one-month surcharge for express bus fares during Hari Raya last year, and never revoked, to be made permanent.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said the increase would be “most minimal” and not hurt consumers and the exact quantum would be announced soon.
